My heart sinks every time I see ugly new constructions sprouting up around the most beautiful parts of the countryside. I personally would hate to see one outside my own home and am not at all convinced by any of the arguements in favour of their value as an alternative energy source. I do believe they are an attractive money making proposition for a landowner. BR, Coddington

The underhanded way in which this has literally 'arrived' on our doorsteps beggars belief. I feel that there are many reasons to oppose the plans. The closest turbine is so close to one of the county's most dangerous stretches of roads that it can only be a further distraction for drivers. The noise which the people backing on to the the A17 suffer from already (road and rifle range) will be made even worse by the low decible constant hum of the turbines. In addition the health of our children and selves has to be valued more than those who will benefit from this. AC, Beckingham

I cannot believe that this absurd scheme has been proposed in such close proximity to our peaceful village with unobstructed views of a natural geographic feature (the Lincoln ridge). Although we care deeply about looking after our beautiful planet and it's resources, this responsibility also requires that we adopt a common sense approach. A common sense approach in this regard must surely be that three enormous turbines higher than Lincoln cathedral, which emit constant noise pollution along with other potential health hazards and damage to local wildlife, are not the way forward in this locality. If wind turbines are viable (which the evidence suggests is dubious) they must be sited in an environmentally sensitive position, and not in what appears to be a "pin in a map" approach by a company based on the other side of the country merely for commercial gain. I would urge the planning department to step back from this and consider the devastating environmental consequences of a supposed "green" proposal. MB, Beckingham

"I object to the planning proposals of such wind turbines in a rural area that will over shadow and be obtrusive to a whole community. Having been through a similar planning objection some time ago I know that we, as citizens of this country must not be bullied by planning departments with an agenda to meet government and financial targets nor companies that have one common theme - profit. If this proposal gets planning approval (and I would be utterly shocked if it did) then it would set a president for others to apply for the same with little chance of objection from the deciding Council departments. Wind farms do not always generate an efficient level of green energy - as it becoming widely known via public forums, so I support the objection to this proposal. Thank you." CR, Beckingham

"We chose Beckingham as an area to live and invest in its community. We spent a considerable amount of time considering the area and its positive impact upon the lives of us as a family with 3 children. This turbine farm is a disaster and will absolutely guarantee to ruin our aspect in the area and make our position within it untenable. All for the sake of a greedy money grabbing PLC demanding more profits at the expense of peoples lives! SAY "NO" TO WIND TURBINES - THEY DON'T WORK!!" - DM, Beckingham

PLANNING APPLICATION WITHDRAWN!

Wind Direct have withdrawn their planning application. We are waiting for further details and will publish them as soon as we can. So, for now, well done and thanks to EVERYONE who supported the campaign!
